Our New Orleans and Metairie cosmetic surgery practices offer the advanced ELOS IPL treatment for individuals seeking to improve skin irregularities. The ELOS Photofacial uses visible light energy to absorb the pigment in the skin's surface, while the RF energy stimulates the production of collagen. These blended functions produce effective, lasting results for our patients. ELOS Photofacial treatments, especially when performed over the course of several treatment sessions, can make a significant improvement in the appearance of vascular and melanin based discolorations. It is used to treat redness, spider veins, open pores, rosacea, and uneven skin textures. In addition to IPL treatments, we also offer numerous other nonsurgical skin rejuvenation procedures such as dermabrasion, chemical peels, and laser skin resurfacing. After a full skin analysis, our cosmetic surgeons will develop a custom treatment plan to meet your specific needs.
Photo rejuvenation is a non-invasive procedure. With IPL, the doctor utilizes pulses of light strong enough to damage skin lesions and initiates a healing process that will start production of new skin tissues. Typically, cold gel is applied on the skin to help with any discomfort. The eyes are also protected from the intense light. The treatment may only last less than 30 minutes as extended exposure to the laser may cause complications. Patients are able to return to their normal routine after a few hours.
"I had a breast augmentation done in 2011. The results were amazing!"- Anonymous / Vitals / Feb 11, 2016
"I had my first experience with plastic surgery at 21, and had breast augmentation with another surgeon in a different city. At the time I wanted very large breasts and was satisfied with my decision. Over the next ten years, my wants changed and I was looking for something different. I came to Dr. Walters, after hearing numerous amazing reviews, with the intent of having my implants removed, breasts lifted, and a new implant replacing the older one, as well as liposuction in various places. Through consultation and guidance from Dr. Walters, I came to the decision that I would have my implants removed, breasts lifted, liposuction, and fat transferred into my breasts and hips for a more natural and contoured appearance. I will admit that I doubted this a little bit, after all I have always wanted a large chest and who wants fat back into their body after it is sucked out?!?! I was nervous, but I trusted Dr. Walters. And, I could not be any happier that I did. I always hated the shape of my breasts and when I had my implants all I had was a larger version of what I hated. Dr. Walters took his time and changed that. He helped me achieve exactly what I was hoping for. He was caring, honest, and professional through the entire process and really made me feel like he not only cared about his work, but me too, as a patient. I would highly recommend Dr. Walters, and I am usually pretty hard to impress!"- Anonymous / Vitals / Jan 24, 2017
"32yr. Old, Breastfed 2 Kids 32A to 32C/D Natrelle Inspira 345ccHP Inframammary - New Orleans, LA - Dr. Khoobehi performed a flawless breast augmentation on me recently. Unfortunately I have a wide set sternum and that limited the size I was anticipating (375-400cdc) He was honest about what my body could most fit to safely achieve a natural look as possible. He offered us and educated us on a fat transfer combo to fill in where I lack cleavage but with much thought we decided to decline but may consider in the future. He made myself and my husband as comfortable as possible in never second guessing our decision to Choose him. His staff was always so helpful and prompt at answering questions. Because of his artists eye and feather touch the healing process couldn't be going better. I'm really pleased that My scar is small smooth and healing nicely"- B. / RealSelf / Jan 23, 2017
"This is my second time having lip augmentation with Dr. Weiss. I highly recommend that you do your research before choosing a doctor. I was not rushed at all. I talked to Dr. Weiss about exactly what I wanted and he was able to achieve exactly what I wanted. Recovery time varies by person, but I had a very quick recovery (2-4 days) for the swelling and faint bruises to fade. He stopped and asked if I liked the result before continuing with the rest of syringe to make sure that my lips did not look over-done. The results look very natural and I am very pleased with my lips' appearance! I wouldn't want to go anywhere else."- Anonymous / Vitals / Jan 21, 2017
What to Expect@headingTag>
Treatment can only last for 20 minutes or less depending on the skin condition. Several sessions are required spaced every 3 weeks. The results are gradual and optimal results may be seen after several months. There may be discomfort during treatment and pain may be present but tolerable – similar to a slight sting of a rubber band snap. After treatment, the skin may appear reddish with slight swelling and blotchiness. These normally disappears after a few hours. It is very important to adhere to doctor’s post-treatment advise when it comes to care.
For a complete treatment, spanning several sessions of IPL Photo Rejuvenation, the fees can go as high as $ 2,000. There are options provided in which the fees are separated in single treatments or can already include the complete series for a one-time payment. Single sessions may cost an average of $ 450. The fees do not include doctor and facility fees yet.
IPL Photo Rejuvenation FAQs@headingTag>
Improvements are noticeable even after the initial treatment but optimal results may be evident after several months. The positive results of this laser treatment are gradual as the skin must be given time to heal to avoid any complications of an aggressive approach. There is no standard recovery time as patient’s condition can greatly vary.
Temporary Side Effects?@headingTag>
Side effects are mild. Redness, swelling, bruising are normal right after treatment. After a few days, blisters and crusting and skin peeling may be present. The patient must not pick on the skin as it is undergoing a normal process as it heals itself.
It is recommended for patients who are scheduled for an IPL photo treatment to refrain from tanners and exposure to sun 1 month prior to schedule. There are also medications that must be avoided such as minocycline, tetracycline, doxycycline or Retin-A/Renova a few weeks before schedule. These precautions minimizes and risks of complications and reactions the laser light may cause. To help prevent bruising and excessive swelling, patients may be required to take aspirin and ibuprofen 1 week before treatment.
Although patients will not be as sensitive to sun exposure as one might think after undergoing the IPL, going out under the sun must be a limited activity especially in between treatments. Doing so may significantly affect the outcome and may cause complications. Sunblock must be regularly applied. This also helps in minimizing possible recurring skin issues like sun spots, wrinkles and skin cancer.
Single Session Only?@headingTag>
A single session can’t last more than 30 minutes as extended exposure to IPL may be risky to the patient. An aggressive approach may bring negative effects instead of correcting skin irregularities. Several sessions are spread in between at least weeks so the resurfacing is gradual and results are also longer term as the skin heals naturally.
