Overview

Surgical Technique
During the procedure, Dr. Kamran Khoobehi, will make an incision on the inframammary fold (lower fold beneath the breast). At times he may need to make an incision around the areola to aid in the seamless removal of the breast implant. When the implants, breast capsule is removed the incision is closed with sutures. Dr. Khoobehi, performs the removal of silicone breast implants under general anesthesia at Outpatient Surgical Center and the removal of saline implants can be done under general or local anesthesia.
During/After Surgery
Following breasts implant removal surgery you will have gauze, dressing and possible drains. Not all patients who undergo the surgery need drains this is a decision Dr. Khoobehi will determine at the time of the surgery. Drains are small tubes placed under the skin within the breast pocket to drain any excess blood or serous fluid that may collect. The drains will be temporary and will be removed with in a few days post-surgery.Dr. Khoobehi provides a compression bra to be worn immediately following surgery to aid in the reduction of swelling.
