A breast lift offers a potentially ideal solution for patients whose breasts have begun to droop from the effects of pregnancy, breast feeding, aging, or both.
Combining Breast lift, Breast Implants &/or Fat transfer can provide outstanding results!
As skin loses its elasticity as part of the normal aging process, the breasts can begin to lose their shape and begin to sag. Breast lift surgery is a technique that removes and tightens excess skin on and around the breast to restore them back to a youthful appearance. New Orleans aesthetic surgeon, Dr. Kamran Khoobehi, offers breast lift surgery to patients throughout the New orleans and Metairie area. Dr. Khoobehi also performs a 3D image called Vectra which provides the capability of altering the images which gives a visual of the expected desired look. Dr. Khoobehi recommends pairing breast lift surgery with Fat transfer to the breast to achieve a natural look and feel.
During a breast lift surgery, incisions will be made around the skin-color line of the areola. It may extend vertically, down to the crease of the breast, or to a horizontal incision following the breast crease direction. How extensive the incision will be depends on how much skin must be removed. The excess skin will be trimmed and the underlying tissues tightened. The remaining skin will be stretched up and closed with sutures.
Wonder what the incisions will look like and how bad the scarring will be after the procedure is hard to answer because everyone heals differently. Dr. Khoobehi will communicate what incision plan would be best during the consultation appointment. Below are some of the most common incisions performed:.
- Incision made around and along the line surrounding the areola;
- Incision made around and along the line surrounding the areola, plus a vertical incision down to the natural crease below the breast;
- Incision made around and along the line surrounding the areola, plus a vertical incision down to the natural crease below the breast, and another horizontal line following the direction of the breast fold.
Breast lift surgery is performed using general anesthesia at Outpatient Surgical Center. On average, the procedure may last up to 3 hours. The recovery will vary as some patients will have had a breast lift in combination with a reduction surgery, fat transfer or with augmentation using implants. Regardless, patients are encouraged to move around within the first 48 hours. Activities such as carrying heavy objects or any activity that puts pressure on the chest are recommended to be avoided for a short period of time. Most patients can resume normal activities within a couple of weeks, but strenuous exercise should not be attempted for 6-8 weeks. There will be some scarring associated with this procedure, but with extra care and products that Dr. Khoobehi provides they will heal and fade, and many patients feel they become secondary to the amazing results!
Breast lifts cost around $9,000 to $12,000 depending on how extensive the surgery. Additional procedures, such as placing breast implants, will increase the total to about $12,500 to $15,000. Dr. Khoobehi is known for his expertise and personalized approach in performing Breast Lifts. He works closely with each patient to develop a treatment plan that is tailored to their specific needs and goals, ensuring that they achieve the best possible outcome.
Breast Lift FAQs
Lift Or Augmentation?
It depends on the patient’s aesthetic goals and the current breast form. A breast lift will help correct sagging, drooping breasts. Many times after breast lift surgery, patients are happy with their breasts size because the lift alone creates a fuller, natural look and feel. If the patient wishes to have more volume and increase the breasts size, then implants and/or fat transfer to the breasts maybe the answer. Dr, Khoobehi, during your consultation, will recommend a personal treatment plan that will be orchestrated just for you!
It is common in a breast lift procedure that the nipple is repositioned so that it looks proportional to the newly shaped breast. When excess skin is trimmed away, a portion of an overly stretched areola (the colored skin around the nipple) is simultaneously trimmed away. The goal is for the nipple and areola to be within a normal size and position.
How Bad Is Scarring?
When incisions are made to remove skin, scars are an inevitable part of the process. Dr. Khoobehi is an expert when it comes to minimizing scarring with precise techniques when it comes to incisions and suturing. Post-surgery scar care products and programs will be provided, and patients are strongly encouraged to follow the plan so that healing is healthy and quick.
