Overview

Dermaplaning is a procedure that safely exfoliates your skin and gets rid of dead skin cells and vellus hair, better known as “peach fuzz.” A simple way to get smoother and brighter skin!

Skin rejuvenation treatments do not have to be harsh or painful to give you glowing, silky smooth skin. The exfoliation of your facial skin should be effective, and not cause harm to your skin. This is why we offer dermaplaning at our office for men and women wanting to rejuvenate their skin without acids or painful treatments. At their offices in Metairie and New Orleans, LA, the aestheticians of Khoobehi & Associates use a special shaving tool to scrape off debris and dead skin cells off your facial skin. We offer skin consultations in our office to determine the best course of action.

Treatment Technique

During your 30-minute appointment (longer if you are having more than one treatment at your session), our aesthetic technician will cleanse your entire face, then delicately shave the outer layer of your skin to remove dead skin cells, fine facial hair, and other debris on the skin. This noninvasive treatment is pain free, and does not require the use of a numbing agent on your skin.

AFTER TREATMENT

Many of our dermaplaning patients report that their skin feels smoother and looks brighter after the treatment. At our office, we see many patients leave with healthier-looking skin with more even skin tone. After you have had a dermaplaning treatment, you will see a difference in your own skin, and love the fact you can go about your day without downtime or painful side effects from other skin rejuvenation treatments. We do recommend that you protect your skin from sun damage, and wear a sun screen on your skin.

Dermaplaning FAQs

How OFten Should I Schedule?

For best results, we like to see our dermaplaning patients come in for a repeat treatment once a month. If you want to see your skin transform, you should book as often as you can, if once a month is not possible.

Can I combine Treatments?

During your consultation appointment, you should discuss all your options in skin rejuvenation. While it is not a good idea to have a chemical peel with dermaplaning, there are other treatments (like microneedling) that work very well together at the same appointment.

AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE?

Patients of all skin textures, and tones are great candidates for dermaplaning. Skin with acne or with open sores will have to wait until the skin heals before a dermaplaning appointment. Scraping skin that is inflamed with acne or open sores will make the problem worse. Also, patients with darker skin may want to try a different treatment than dermaplaning as it may change the color of the skin.
