How Is This Treatment Performed?
As can be expected with most laser treatments, your aesthetician will apply the eMatrix applicator to the surface of your skin and stamp the laser over the treatment area in a methodical pattern. You might experience a slight sensation of warmth and prickling, which is merely your body’s way of reacting to the laser and healing. Areas with scar tissue or hyperpigmentation may feel like “hot zones” or slightly more discomfort than others. In addition, your aesthetician may choose to leave some areas unaffected by the laser in close relation to the treatment site. Leaving healthy, untreated skin cells nearby will help to accelerate your body’s healing and regeneration.
What Should I Expect After Treatment?
In contrast to more aggressive laser resurfacing treatments, the eMatrix application and treatment process over time allows recovery to be relatively quick. You can expect some redness and swelling at the site of application for one or two days following the treatment, as well as some light itching as the skin heals. Please be sure to protect your skin using sunscreen and airy clothing to protect it from the sun as it heals. If you have sensitive skin and/or receive a high-energy level of treatment, you may wish to schedule four to five days out for yourself, as flaking of the healing skin can be most prominent in this time window.

How many treatments will I need?
Since eMatrix treatments focus on restoring skin over time and can use a gentle approach to do it, we recommend multiple sessions at lower energy rather than a single one at high energy for best results. Patients often need different amounts of visits, depending on their skin condition, their skin history, and other factors; however, our New Orleans, LA patients typically report their ideal results being reached in about 4 – 5 sessions. These sessions can be spaced anywhere from 4 – 6 weeks apart for achieving your optimum skin.
