1. Breast Measurements

The first step is to measure your breasts. This is like creating a surgical map, allowing your surgeon to plan the approach more accurately and use a less invasive technique. By tailoring surgery more closely to your natural contours and shape, your surgeon can better preserve the inner structures of your breasts, leading to a more comfortable recovery, a lower risk of postoperative complications, and a more natural-looking aesthetic result.

2. Numbing, Incision, & Motiva® Channel Separator

As opposed to traditional breast augmentation, which requires general anesthesia, Preservé by Motiva® techniques allow your surgeon to use local anesthetic with mild sedation, making this an ideal option for those adverse to general anesthesia.

Once numbed, your surgeon will make a tiny incision (about 2 cm long) in the inframammary fold. Using the Motiva® Channel Separator to create a tunnel in the tissue, your surgeon will create a space for the implant to settle without making incisions.

3. Creating the Breast Pocket

In the tunnel made by the Motiva® Channel Separator, your surgeon will insert the Motiva® Inflatable Balloon to gradually stretch and push your tissues aside, making a precise pocket for the implant. This gradual stretching of tissues is less invasive than cutting them, preserving the natural musculature and tissues, reducing trauma and postoperative pain. Additionally, your surgeon can better control the size of the breast pocket to accommodate your custom breast implants.

4. Implant Insertion & Incision Closure

Breast augmentation with Preservé by Motiva® is an outpatient procedure that typically lasts about an hour. Because it can be performed using local anesthesia with light sedation, most patients are up and walking a few hours after surgery. Because of the tissue and muscle-sparing techniques, many of the breast augmentation surgical side effects are greatly reduced, but some are still present. You will have some minor stiffness, discomfort, bruising, and swelling.

However, downtime is greatly reduced. Many patients can return to desk work and light daily activities within two to three days. Be sure to follow Dr. Khoobehi’s post-surgical recommendations and listen to your body. If you feel tired, rest. Avoid lifting your arms, bending, and lifting for a week. Physical exercise is restricted until about three weeks after surgery.
